The Blessing of the Lord is Transformational

“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.”

Proverbs 10:22 (NKJV)

Derek Prince, author of the book “Blessing or Curse You can Choose” wrote, “Some people are happy to accept the fact that blessings are valid, but are skeptical about curses, which they associate with superstitious practices of the dark ages.” He concluded that “Such thinking is unrealistic. We cannot focus exclusively on one aspect of opposites because it is acceptable to us, and simply ignore the other because it is unacceptable.” In citing some examples, Prince declared that “The opposite of hot is cold; both are real. The opposite of good is evil; both are real. In just the same way, blessings are real and so are curses.”

Beloved, God is the sole and supreme source of all blessings to His children, and He networks His operation using many channels. The fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden led to all mankind being born under a curse: in that, we were born in sin and shaped in iniquity. The devil, that old serpent, knew that God loves man and hates sin, and in his evil demented mind, the serpent hatched a diabolical plan to put sin that God hates into man whom He loves so that God cannot destroy sin which He hates without destroying man whom he loves. The devil thought he had God in a dilemma, but God had a redemption plan and the executor of that plan is the Lord, Jesus Christ, who shed His blood and died on Calvary’s cross for the atonement of our sins.

We must be conscious of the fact that the devil has at least some foreknowledge of what God has prepared for those of us who escaped from his oppression. The greater the blessings in store for us, the more determined will be his attempts to hold us back.  Viewed in this light, let our struggles become a source of encouragement to hold fast to the promises of God – 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV).

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help us to develop and maintain an attitude of firm, unwavering trust that we will be blessed beyond measure. Help us to remember that You love us and desire only the best for us. Help us to dismiss the devil’s lies, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
